Despite the macroeconomic noise, the first few months of 2026 have been busy ones — and a good reminder that Cornish and South West businesses continue to find ways to grow.
Corporate | Henry Maples
The anticipated capital gains rate changes in April created an inevitable flurry of activity, with a number of capital event transactions completing ahead of the month-end deadline. Since then, the pace hasn’t let up: May saw two bank refinancing projects complete — one involving a mix of term and invoice discounting, the other with a challenger bank. We’re currently mid-process on two significant late seed stage equity investment rounds and have just kicked off three acquisition projects for longstanding clients with an appetite for growth. We’re pleased to see SME and entrepreneurial businesses continuing to back themselves.
